Early Childhood Teacher - Kindergarten & Pre-Primary
Full-time Maternity Leave Position | 6-12 Month Contract | Commencing in Term 1, 2027

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our Kindergarten and Pre-Primary team in 2027. This full-time maternity leave position is offered for an initial period of 6-12 months, with the possibility of ongoing employment for the successful applicant.
This rewarding multi-age teaching role is ideal for an educator who embraces play-based learning, values collaboration, and responds thoughtfully to the diverse interests, strengths, and developmental needs of young children.
About the Role
Reporting to the Principal, the successful applicant will demonstrate:

Excellent organisational, planning, and classroom management skills.
-
An ACECQA-recognised Early Childhood Teaching qualification (or equivalent).
-
Experience implementing the National Quality Standard (NQS), Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and Western Australian Curriculum (or equivalent) to develop engaging and meaningful learning programs.
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
-
A genuine commitment to the vision, mission, and Bible-based values of Heritage College Perth.

Professionalism, initiative, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Understanding and experience with the PLD (Promoting Literacy Development) Synthetic Phonics approach and the Bond Blocks Prevention/Intervention Program, or a willingness to undertake the required training and professional development.
Desirable Experience

Experience teaching in a multi-age, play-based Early Childhood setting.

Knowledge of, or experience implementing, the Diana Rigg PLD literacy approach.

Year 1-2 Primary Teaching Position (3 Days a week)

We are seeking to employ a dedicated, energetic and passionate Primary School Teacher for our Year 1-2 class for 2027. This position will suit a Teacher with a flexible approach who understands the diversity of students' interests and abilities. We are seeking applicants who are highly reflective about their teaching practice and competently use their observations, records and knowledge of student progress to create learning programs that are targeted to children at their point of need. An Educator with the will and the energy to maintain a playful approach to learning will thrive in this position.
About the Role
Reporting to the Principal, the successful applicant will demonstrate:

strong organisational and planning skills

experience building teaching/learning programs that (1) align with the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline, including the Principles of Teaching, Learning and Assessment and (2) which are informed by the Vision, Principles, Practices and Pedagogy of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
-
an understanding of the Synthetic Phonic approach to spelling and reading instruction
-
a commitment to the use of concrete materials when building key maths concepts
-
commitment to the vision, mission and values of the College
-
a strong work ethic of dedication and commitment
Previous experience in a multi-age, classroom which is designed around playful learning experiences would be advantageous as would an understanding of or experience with the PLD Synthetic Phonics program and the Bond Blocks Prevention/Intervention Maths Program. At a minimum, we would require a commitment to participate in the necessary training and upskilling in the use of these programs.
Suitable applicants should welcome the opportunity to be coached to grow their professional practice. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a willingness to liaise with colleagues, parents, and external networks to establish strong community partnerships are also highly desired.
Suitable applicants will also relish the opportunity to lead established programs that form an integral part of our Year 1/2 classroom such as Bush School and Poetry Teatime.

Relief Teaching Staff
Heritage College Perth is a small, independent K–12 God-focused school located in the foothills of Perth. We offer a caring, close-knit community and a supportive learning environment.
We are seeking suitably experienced Primary and Secondary Teachers and experienced Education Assistants to join our relief team.
Teachers must have:
• Relevant teaching qualification (Primary and/or Secondary)
• Current TRBWA registration
• Proven classroom experience
• Working with Children Check and WA Police Clearance
• Strong communication skills and a positive, flexible attitude
Education Assistants must have:
• Certificate III or IV in Education Support (or equivalent experience)
• Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs
• Confidence to use their initiative and demonstrate effective behaviour‑management strategies
